R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Find Out What it Means to Me...

man... i just got scolded by my boss. (by boss, i mean the guy that's paying me for my vocals right now)
It's really hard to discern how i'm supposed to act with him... i mean, i don't even think he knows how i'm supposed to act until i do something he doesn't like!
it's such a strange boss/employee relationship to begin with... he wants to treat me like i'm a partner because that's what he wants me to be, but when i try to act like a partner i get shunned!! :( personally, i think his main concern with me being a partner, is not that he could use the extra opinion anyway... it's that he doesn't want to pay me as much as i've been contracted for. He's perfectly quaint not listening to people that aren't contracted to shut up and sing.
I think, though, from now on it would be a good idea if i just shut my mouth and do as i'm told like a good employee.
I mean, i really think that's what he wanted in the first place when he set up the contract and started charging me... but along the way he kind of changed the way he talks to me. So, while we're doing recordings/practicing/general nonsense, i'm treated like a buddy/partner but when it comes down to decision making time, i'm only allowed to question his judgement in private... and i'm sure as hell not allowed to argue with him!

i'm pretty sure there are multiple run on sentences in this, but i just needed to vent.
this is tough... but it's what i asked for. I guess i just wasn't expecting so many of the little things to get to me.
I think that's all he's asking for though, is the respect factor. He's paying for my services... he's not paying for my opinion. The second I put a price tag on myself... is the second he stopped caring about how i felt about his decisions.

ugh... why do i have to be so opinionated anyway!?!? it just makes my life complicated.

For the Times, They Are a-Changin'

So, in one day I have the rest of the month all figured out without a freaking doubt! It's such an incredible feeling to not be wondering any more.
I have some happy to vent out to you folks!

There's this guy that I've been working on a music project with, and earlier today I mentioned to him that I was planning on moving. Well, as if it was a Freaking sign from GOD, within an hour he calls me back asking me if I would be willing to sign a 30 day contract for 1000$ and work on a 4 song EP.
I tell him I'll think about it and I'll head over later to chat. Well, within that hour and a half it took me to get over there he has upped the set to 7 or 8 songs in 15 days. So, I upped the price to $1500. And we both agreed on a beautiful deal with the fine print all worked out!
So
A. I'm a freaking professional musician, making enough to sustain my living expenses for the month
-AND-
B. I'm making more as paid talent than I ever have at any job before
-NOT TO MENTION-
C. That decision I've been dying over? UT or AZ... Yep. Solved!

Mmm... life tastes good right now. Tastes like chocolate fudge. :)

It's the Final Count Down

I think it's time for me to decide... and I think I'm going to decide on going home.
This was a fun little getaway and I really got to bond with my family, which don't get me wrong was great, but I really need to go back and face all the things I left behind.
And like I mentioned in my earlier post, I have this feeling that I wasn't supposed to be here for another year, which kinda makes me wonder what I'm going to miss out on in Utah.
Plus, (SHHH! don't tell) I actually left some debts that no one knows about... But sooner or later they'll find me... and I need to go take care of them.
So hopefully I can find a job down there because I am having ZERO luck up here. And on top of everything else, I'm getting FAT from all of the cake and ice cream and pizza and chips and parties and family happy food... jeez! It's like twice a week we throw parties up here!!

Well there it is. I'm heading home. And it will be a good thing, I can feel it.
